Amazon Customer Email Address For Customs Forms

We just had a load of parcels returned to us by DPD who told us they would not clear customs without an email address on them (despite having phone numbers) I deliberately did not put the Amazon generated customer email address as I had assumed that we could get in trouble for sending unsolicited emails.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to put this address on or not as we cannot email each EU customer and ask for their contact email as Amazon will block the messages. If not aside from switching couriers I guess we can put our email address on but then we will be inundated with customs clearance requests which would have to be forward to the correct customer through Amazon … what a mess !

I thought that anything is required by your courier and its for shipping purposes is ok to share. Im using UPS and when the order is directly copied to UPS system the email is also copied so it have to be ok.

I would have thought that the Amazon encrypted email address would be of no use to anyone but Amazon ?
