My book is available for sale by Amazon, yet they don't have any stock?
I have recently self published a book, and am self distributing.
Recently, when setting up with Seller Central, I noticed that Amazon are also 'stocking' the book. However, they do not physically have any stock of the product - as it is all on my living room table.
The site updated yesterday saying that the product is usually dispatched within 6-7 months. This is crippling my sales, because it is making the book appear to be out of stock when it isn't.
How can I get them to remove their item from sale, or provide them stock? Support have been useless.

The problem is that because you are a new seller its much harder to get the buy box doing FBM but if someone wants it I'd have thought they would look to see if there were other sellers and then find you

You are the second person to post this in the last week.
And look at what the expected delivery date is...Friday 24th May, exactly the same as your listing.
So the question now becomes....why would amazon list stock for pre-order that they don't even have and then give themselves the buy box at the expense of al seller/author who actually does have stock? Unfortunately, only amazon can advise.

I have encountered many many listings like that, not books but the pattern is the same. Amazon gets the BB even if it will deliver it in 7 months. I know there is plenty of stock but with Amazon in pole position claiming to be out of stock, many potential buyers will just move on. I don't have the solution but Amazon should sort this out as it doesn't look good when the other marketplaces are stocking the product. I wish it was possible to speak to a competent human being at Amazon, it's not a lot to ask. Their bots and SS are useless. .
