Bug in returns process

Beware of a bug in Amazon seller returns. It appears buyers can happily click away on the returns button as many times as they like and we will receive a returns request for each and every one. Unlike other market places where you can only do this once.

I raised this with the SS and this was their reply on the matter.

We understand that you are experiencing issues with return requests.

We have investigated the issue thoroughly and found that the buyer just clicked several times more on return request. Every time a buyer clicks on it, it will shown in seller central as return request.

You can continue to work with your buyers regarding friendly resolutions to such problematic orders and advise the buyer not to click on return request anymore so that the request for return wouldn’t appear for the order id through the Buyer Seller messaging.

We have forwarded your feedback to the concerned team regarding the more than one return being available to buyers. They will review and take necessary actions on this.

We appreciate your understanding here and apologize for the inconvenience.

So although they don’t like us contacting buyers, we also now have to police them when it comes to returns. And the number of returns shown in Seller Central is not a true representation of how many returns you have.

Not only this, when selecting the different filters in Manage Returns, they will appear under “Authorised, Pending Actions & Closed” But remember its not a bug, its a feature :joy: :joy: :joy:

Crazy ! - how can you return one item more than once.
They are not acknowledging at all the problem this creates for sellers.

I have one too. Because they opened two returns on the same item I will have the box with 1 return on it fir the full timeframe even tho it’s been refunded .
