Just me? Royal Mail -
More and more I'm getting customers (rightly) annoyed at items (2nd class letter size) taking up to 9-10 working days to deliver. Often the replacement & original turn up on the same day - in other words, holding back mail until they have enough to 'justify' going to that address.
Yes, I offer 1st class upgrades from letters up to ParcelForce sizes. But not many are willing to pay the extra charge, especially for a low value item.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

Yes seeing it all the time on all platforms that 2nd Class Letter is taking a long time. I have seen up to 14 days in some instances.
Royal Mail just do not value letter post and deliver it as and when they feel like it.
They are looking at changing 2nd Class Letter post so it is delivered every other working day. If Ofcom agree to the changes. Royal Mail claim this will make it better as it will reduce costs. Personally I think it won't make much difference and if anything will make it worse.

Yes I'm getting loads of messages too - particularly around Mothers Day letters took ages

Royal Mail is in the process of being sold and taking advantage of the lack of scrutiny.
Our local postie openly admits letters only get delivered once or twice a week at best irrelevant of 1st or 2nd class. Items with tracking do get prioritised.
Royal mail is currently only interested in tracked items and (mainly) parcels.

Royal Mail is pretty much phasing out letter services for Ecom selling. they want everyone on Tracked 48. To the point where we have seen price increases for large letter parcels being priced higher than tracked 48.

Hi I personally only use Tracked 24 and 24 L. letter mail (factoring in the extra charges for first class in my price) and can't complain on the service I receive on the 24 service
My Postman recommended changing my deliveries of 48 mail to 24 to save me any delivery hassle, knowing what our Amazon customers are like! and I've got a very good pricing for Tracked 24 service

Yes I agree with you. We have mail only 2 to 3 a week a best. I gather we are one of the luckily ones. I heard stories of mail be held for 2 weeks.
Considering the money we pay we should all get a better service.

I fear if Ofcom does allow RM to reduce the number of days that 2nd class letters get delivered, then Amazon won't give it as an option through Buy Shipping. I think it will just be too bad of a service and Amazon won't want to associate with it.

Sorry to go against the grain, but RM are (in my experience) spot-on at the moment. And no, I don't work for, nor have shares in The Royal Mail.

I send 90% of my orders 2nd class large letter with Royal Mail and - outside the Christmas period when almost everything gets delayed - I haven't (yet) had a single complaint about late delivery.

Well Czech billionaire and friend of Putin, Daniel Křetínský, officially took over Royal Mail yesterday (April the 30th), so who knows which way things will go?
