Reclaiming Our Product Line

We manufacture a product. Another company created an ASIN for our most popular SKU before us. How do we get control back of our product as the manufacturer?

Hello @Seller_IDjlswWLogwTE

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. As a manufacturer, you have several options to regain control of your ASIN:

First, file a Brand Registry application if you haven't already. You'll need:

  • A registered trademark
  • Supporting documentation proving you're the manufacturer
  • Product documentation/photos

Once Brand Registry is approved, submit a case through Seller Central > Help > Report a Violation to report the unauthorized listing. Include:

  • Proof of manufacturing rights
  • Product specifications
  • Factory documentation
  • Product photos
  • Any relevant patents/trademarks

Do NOT create a new ASIN, as this violates our duplicate listing policy.

If the other seller is using counterfeit products or making false claims, submit a detailed counterfeit complaint.

The process typically takes 1-2 weeks for review. Continue using the existing ASIN while the case is under investigation.

For specific case updates, please contact Seller Support directly through your Seller Central account.

Christine.
