Auto-authorized return - FBM

Who is responsible for refunding the customer if Amazon auto-authorized the return? Will Amazon refund the customer by debiting seller account or does the seller have to manually refund the customer?

We had a case where the return was auto-authorized, the unit was returned to us, but Amazon never refunded the customer by debiting our account. Customer opened an AtoZ claim and it affected our ODR.

Hello @Seller_9YzthP0ns8Wqa

That is a great question. I posted to another thread today about auto-authorized returns of orders Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM).

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/afcf2107-28f1-4603-acb8-03867d537f50?postId=6efefb29-47a5-444e-91d3-504ef91ff587

Same question as yours. The answer is "You are experiencing Refund at First Scan (RFS) issues. RFS does not always trigger automatically. Monitor your returns page in Seller Central daily. If RFS does not initiate, you can manually process the refund."

Thanks for selling on Amazon. Susan
