Ship by date conundrum
Yesterday (27/01/23) a book ordered at 14:57 has a ship by date of 30 Jan 2023 to 31 Jan 2023.
Another book ordered yesterday at 15:21 has a ship by date of 30 Jan 2023.
How is it that a book ordered later has a shorter ship time?

Or perhaps the first one has a longer shipping time, because it’s the weekend?

Surely SSA shouldn’t affect the ship by date though?
Handling must be different on the two listings

Apologies to those whom have tried to help so far, but I am more confused now than when I started.
Let me start again.
Most settings are the default, so MY information that is relevant to ‘ship by date’ is:-
- I only ship to the UK.
- I use standard non-prime shipping.
- Order cut-off time 02:00 PM
- Operating days Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri.
- Default handling time 2 days.
- (Whom I ship with is irrelevant,)
What else do I need to know to work out how the ‘ship by date’ is decided?
i.e. what other inputs are relevant, so I can expand the list above.
I thought it was relatively straightforward.
Ignoring weekend and bank holidays.
Example 1. Order comes in before 2PM on Tuesday.
‘Ship by date’ end of Wednesday.
Example 2. Order comes in after 2PM on Tuesday.
‘Ship by date’ end of Thursday.
Obviously the above is incorrect - what I have not understood yet, is what other inputs to the process are relevant, so I can understand step by step how the ‘ship by date’ is calculated. (I can understand flow charts)
Please note, I have tried reading the umpteen help pages, and there is so much information and then when I think I understand it, my logic is turned upside down by a statement on another page.

Your are not the only person reporting this.
I had a customer purchase at the same time three different fridge magnets (which were listed via same template, the same day on a previous date)
Two showed one delivery date, the other something different.
Behind the scenes all boxes, dispatch times etc were set/ticked the same - very odd

I think I may have found a reason why this is confusing.
I watched a pending order for 2 days and when the order had been finally paid, the order date was the original order date. However the ship by date appeared to based on the D/T the order was paid.
Presumably this makes perfect sense as if an order was pending for say 5 days, then the ship by date would be in the past, and impossible to meet.
In which case there must be another D/T that is used, which I have not been able to find.
Does that make sense ?

I have been playing with the ‘Fulfilment latency’ field and further info is available there,

The 2 topics are related so I will close this one and use the other.
Thank you all for contributing.
