Buyer left a negative review on a cancelled order

Last week I received a 1* review from a buyer. Having investigated further I realized the review came from a cancelled order :( This user never bought the product from us which makes me think this was an attack by a competitor?

So I contacted seller support with all the proof to remove the review but they said they cannot remove it. I'm stuck and I do not know what to do next.

Please let me know what can be done.

I believe feedback stupidly can be left for cancelled orders. Unfortunately, all you can easily do is leave a factual response.

The same happens when they leave a one star review having ordered the wrong size product.

Its ridiculous but there is nothing that can be done. You will only waste your time and incur further frustration...just let it go is the best policy.

Although I will now add that the feedback and review system when viewed as a seller is so poor that I no longer use it when making a purchase from Amazon. I dont think many customers will bother with it either. Amazon have managed to render it utterly pointless.

It is worth appealing, I had a review left about a product that clearly was not mine. - A toaster, I sell stationery.

I contacted support, I must of got a human 1st time because it was removed instantly. So it is possible to get someone to remove it, I guess you have to convince them it should be.
