Account at risk for inauthentic listing that is genuine product
Can anyone give me some advice please.
I have received an email from amazon saying I need to address an issue within 72 hours to avoid account suspension. I have tried to contact them but finding it impossible to speak to someone.
It relates to a claim made 3 weeks ago that an item I was selling is inauthentic / fake.
This is the message:-
‘Rights owner communication: we are the brand owner and manufacturer of this product and can confirm after purchasing the item that its fake please remove this reseller from the listing’
Please provide the following to reactivate your listings:
– A letter of authorization or a licensing agreement from the manufacturer or Rights Owner demonstrating that your products are lawful. External links are not accepted. For security reasons, we only accept attachments in the following file formats.’
The item is a genuine product purchased from a wholesaler and I have the invoice from the wholesaler however the manufacturer of the product has made the claim.
I have made numerous attempts to ask that the manufacturer retract the claim but to no avail. They don’t care and are not interested in helping me even when I have explained this is our business on the line.
I have no interest at all in selling the product in future and I have deleted the listing from my inventory, it was just something I had ordered to make an order up with a wholesaler to get free delivery.
I have over 1000 listings on amazon and to check for each and every item that the manufacturer is happy for me to sell on amazon would be impossible.
So where do I go from here?
The claim is that the item is fake when it isn’t.
Any advice would really be appreciated.

Which brand is it ?
Did you get permission from the brand owner or did you check with the wholesaler that you can sell on Amazon?
Some of the major brands such as Rubies only allow re-sales if you buy directly from them as they were experiencing so many fakes
Are you also sure you listed on the correct asin ?
There are some companies that rebrand goods as their own, even though they’re not the brand

Have you tried to communicate with the brand owner (email should be in the performance notification) to say that your item is genuine and to give them the wholesaler details?
If you do this they may withdraw the complaint.
Did they actually do a test purchase from you, can you find the order this related to? If not this could be a reason to appeal the take down whilst providing the invoices.
But do check the brand on the listing. Is it the correct brand or is it the incorrect brand?

Thank you for posting.
It was some Fright Fest Spirit Gum (manufacturer Lakeland Cosmetics) and as mentioned above I have no interest in selling it in future.
It would be impossible to get permission from the brand owner or the wholesaler for every item as I buy from various wholesalers and with the number of products listed it wouldn’t be realistic for them to give me something to confirm I can sell each and every item on amazon.
Yes it was on the correct asin.
The wholesaler and Manufacturer have both confirmed its a genuine product. (but only over the phone) so the statement they make that its a fake product is incorrect.
Yes they did a test purchase (actually the only time Ive sold one)
I have tried on multiple occasions to reason over the past 2 to 3 weeks
with the brand owner and explained I have no interest in selling the product moving forward but they simply will not help or even let me speak with someone with authority that can make the decision to retract the claim.
