💳 Credit & Debit Card Verification Guide
Hey Amazon Sellers! 👋
Let's talk about card verification - a crucial but sometimes tricky part of your selling journey. While it usually takes just a couple of minutes, sometimes it can stretch up to 48 hours depending on your bank and card network.
What to Expect During Verification 🔍
You might get redirected to your bank's website for a security check - totally normal! Think of it as your bank's virtual bouncer making sure everything's legit.
Warning Signs to Watch For ⚠️
If your card verification fails, you'll spot:
- A red banner in your seller account
- An email notification in your inbox
- Restrictions on managing listings, inventory, and shipments
- A pause on receiving your money from Amazon
Troubleshooting Tips 🛠️
- If verification isn't going smoothly, double-check these common fixes:
- Make sure the name matches exactly (include middle name or initial as how it is printed on your card)
- Enter the verification code, not the phone number (it happens to the best of us)
- Verify your Account Info is current and correct (make sure your address matches along with your postal/zip code)
Important Reminders 📝
Sometimes even previously verified cards can hit a snag if:
- Your card is approaching expiration or expired
- Your billing address changed or name changed
- Your bank added new restrictions or extra layer of security
Next Steps If You're Stuck 🤔
- Try a different card if you have one
- Ring up your bank - they're usually super helpful
- Visit your local branch for in-person assistance

Hey, thanks for sharing this! It’s super thorough yet nice and concise really appreciate how you broke it all down. With all the experience and know-how you’ve got, you should totally rewrite all those Amazon seller support pages like this. Seriously impressed! ; )

Great. If only we had any control over the verification on sales to customers, this would be really useful information. Would also love to know how to represent 2nd chargebacks on Amazon (protip: we cannot), or even to get informed that a 2nd chargeback occurred.

information that was passed down to me, i will now pass down to you ....
step 1/ when changing your credit/debit card (for whatever reason), ALWAYS change it first at amazon.com in your personal or business Buyer's account ... make sure that everything on that side goes through okay and that the new card info is accepted and confirmed
step 2/ and then, make the changes to your credit/debit card in your seller account at sellercentral.amazon.com
if you do the update in this order, it will work ... at least it has always worked for me

Please somebody explain to me why I need to register a CC to SELL.....? That makes no sense...
