Amazon is declining in the UK!
I’ve noticed sales are dropping day by day, and Amazon UK doesn’t seem to care because their team here is the worst. Shouldn’t Amazon review its selling fees? They’re more than 40%! Also, their algorithm is now favouring low prices, no matter the quality. On top of that, in August, they even started charging tax on their own service fees!

The email from Amazon dated 22/07/24 explained it, viz:
Effective August 1, 2024, Selling on Amazon, Fulfilment by Amazon, and all other services currently supplied by Amazon Services Europe S.à r.l. (ASE) will be supplied by Amazon EU S.à r.l. (AEU). If your company is established in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Belgium or Sweden, you will be invoiced by the AEU branch in your country of establishment. As a result, local VAT rules apply and VAT will be charged on your Amazon fees. In the majority of cases, we expect that you will be able to recover this VAT through your normal VAT return process

Take also in to account the big drop in retail sales in October 24 in the Uk caused by people getting ready for 30th October budget which will see taxes and basic food products rise in coming month. Also friday 22nd price rises in Engery as well People have little spare cash for lesuire spends. France and Germany already in recession.
