Is Child suffocation warning needed in the UK on polybag packing - or just a US thing?

I am a UK seller selling both children related and non related items. All of these will be packed in plastic bags greater than 5 inches.

However, on amazon uk and Europe sites I do not find anywhere mentioned that a child warning is needed. I only found it on seller central .com (US) websites.

Can someone advise if it is needed. And if so, can it just be a sticker, or does it need to be printed

UK link: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/external/G200141500?language=en_GB
States needed in boxed units which are to be plastic packed. No mention in poly bagged products

US Link: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/G200141500?language=en_US
States needed in polly bagged products

Not entirely sure of Amazon’s requirements, but can say with a certain amount of certainty, that you won’t see a product in a plastic bag in any shop in the UK, without a warning on it. I’m pretty sure that it’s a legal requirement! So I would imagine, that the answer is yes.

It is mentioned on the FBA prep screen but it does not appear to be on any of the help pages currently.

Where I have to bag clothing myself I normally use bags with printed warnings on them. However I have used stickers in the past and Amazon haven’t refused to take these.

Amazon’s guidance:

“Bags that have an opening that measures more than 5 inches when laid flat must have a suffocation warning printed on or affixed to the bag in a prominent location and in a legible font size.”

I can’t see any indication that this a UK/EU legal requirement as such, but ROSPA certainly recommends it for packaging of items that might be used by children.

We always put suffocation warnings on all the plastic bags we send to FBA, in case there are any Amazon employees with a mental age of less than 18.

Haha… Indeed, thank you for your quick replies. I take it that there is no regulation, but we should just do it. I will use the sticker on top for now. Any size recommendations?
