Return Request Granted and Full Automatic Refund two days after order

Buyer places order worth 30 euros. Places "return request" two days later after I post it. Amazon auto-authorises meaning immediate full refund. So now I have paid £5 to send an item worth £28 to Germany which has not been paid for. Is there anything I can do here? Like so many others, sick to death of Amazon opening up obvious avenues for fraud.

Unfortunately, the answer would be stop selling outside the UK, because what amazon say and what amazon do in instances like this don't add up.

For an order of €30, I assume sold on .co.uk, then based on this page a full refund should not have taken place. The product is both over €25 and also, its never been made clear from amazon what the policy is on orders shipped abroad from .co.uk how returns are supposed to work. Its clear fro mthe page above that if you sell on .de, you are supposed to provide a German return address. But Amazon appear to have built it so you essentially need to supply a German return address even if the sale was on .co.uk

Hello @Seller_1vyLJePYDN9hf,

Could you share the order ID for the refund that you mentioned?

Also, did you raise a Support case regarding this? If yes, I would like to take a look.

Regards,

Sakura

Hello @Seller_1vyLJePYDN9hf,

I checked your order, and I see that together with the shipment costs, the total value was less than 25€, and the order was placed on amazon.de

In this case, you need to provide a German default return address, as per Customer returns for international sales:

"If a default domestic return address is not provided in the store you are selling in, then we will automatically issue a returnless refund on your behalf for all in-policy returns that meet the above-mentioned thresholds, without requiring the item to be returned to you."

Did you check your Return Settings -> Manage Return Addresses ?

Regards,

Sakura
