EC Decleration of Conformity
Hi, recently we have been receving emails from amazon saying some of our products are being removed unless we can provide an ‘‘EC Declaration of Conformity’’ as they deem these specific items to be toys (even though they are not toys, they are teethers).
when I ask my suppliers (in china) for this document, they are not sure what it is, is the EC Declaration of Conformity the same as the CE certificate or is it something totally different.
Thank in advance for you help

A EU Declaration of Conformity (also called a CE Certificate, EC Declaration of Conformity, or CE Declaration of Conformity) is the document confirming that the product complies with the applicable CE marking directives or regulations

Not to tarnish all Chinese suppliers with the same brush but they do have the “China Export” CE which looks very similar to the CE marking for toy safety. Just make sure the ones on your stock are genuine. Also, for the UK you’ll need a UKCA mark on it as well.
From someone who sells baby toys and teethers, if you don’t already, make sure you have the relevant insurances in place just in case something were to happen!
