Account at risk of deactivation due to Invoice Defect Rate - had 1 business order and did not upload the invoice. Applied as VAT-exempt now but what to do with that 1 business sale that is missing an invoice?

Hi all,

I am new here, so probably a stupid question, have looked at many articles, but could not find the answer.

Situation:

- recently started selling on Amazon

- not VAT registerred

- had one business sale and did not upload the invoice

- have now Declared VAT registration exemption

I still need to upload invoice for that 1 business sale - how do I do it? How to generate an invoice?

Many thanks!

Yes, you will need to generate one for that order. There are lots of sites with template invoices - just create one and then go to the order (presumably already shipped ?) and upload via 'Manage Invoice' tab. Just fill in details, but don't mention VAT as you are not VAT registered, just no VAT charged.

Now you have declared your VAT exempt status, Amazon will automatically upload any for future business customers.

If you're not VAT registered you just need to supply a receipt, for outstanding orders that need one there are plenty of free receipt templates online.

Ongoing look for Automated Receipt Generation program in seller central search and enrol for free, once activated (it may take a few days to kick in) Amazon will generate all future receipts for you free of charge.
