Locked attributes
Have you ever find yourself in the need to change an attribute only to find that is locked, and the edit field greyed out? 🔒
Listings that are linked to your Brand registry have numerous attributes that can become locked after the listing initial creation, this makes it challenging to submit updates to your existing listings.
When this happens, the only option to update the listing is to delete the listing <<wait 24 hours>> and re-create it. The recommended method is to use feed templates to perform these actions.
- Waiting for 24 hours allows the system to clear previous data and allow your listing to be re-created with fresh information/attributes.
I acknowledge that deleting and re-creating the listings is not the most convenient action you can take, but it can become a valuable resource when changing attributes is needed.
Have you ever faced a challenge with updating specific attributes? Do you have specific questions or doubts around this topic that I can support you with.

Losing sales, yes but not reviews as the same ASIN will be created and the reviews will still be there (in theory).
But only Amazon staff think that this is a satisfactory solution to a problem their website causes.

We sellers pay to use the platform but platform dysfunctions are ours to resolve. Got it. Nice.

delete the sku which could have thousands of units going into stranded inventory for over 24hrs and hoping this doesn't cause more problems. Not a great option for FBA sellers

Cannot change an attribute on my listing ASIN B08L9HJ18T Mounting Type. Opened a case (10452152742) which Amazon said was done successfully (!) on 28th October yet still showing on listing. Re-opened case (10482056882) and Amazon said I need to change it on spreadsheet yet no attribute on spreadsheet. Now what do i do? Just going round in circles trying to get misleading attribute off my listing to make it clearer for customers.

Hi @Roberto_Amazon
Thank you for the information; it’s been very helpful. I recently attempted to update the manufacturer attribute in one of our listings, as it was incorrect. As the brand owner and creator of this listing, I expected the update to go through, but unfortunately, this method didn’t work. I reached out to customer support, but they were unable to assist. Seller Support informed me that I am not the “winning contributor” on this listing, which has been attributed to another representative of the brand. Since I am the brand owner and sole creator of the listing, I’d appreciate your help to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance!
