Amazon is showing this item as late and possibly lost.

Message from customer.

"Amazon is showing this item as late and possibly lost. In fact I received it and very pleased with the copy".

Why do Amazon to this it's the worst wording ever. It just encourages dishonesty. Thankfully not in this case.

Most customers are lovely, genuine and honest.

Some are sadly not.

Thankfully you had an honest customer. @Spencer_AmazonYou say you're looking into this, but it remains a serious issue.

In a single day last week, I had five messages from customers who said Amazon had told them the item was lost. I checked the tracking and each one was delivered. I presented each with the evidence that they had in fact been delivered, and fortunately, they all backed down with messages like "Oh, we found it" or "It showed up today"

If I'd just refunded, I would have lost a significant amount of money. I would have also approached Royal Mail for refunds...

Which makes me wonder what RM would make of Amazon's policy on this.

I agree that it breeds dishonesty. Some of Amazon's ideas are well-meaning but don't account for human behaviour.

they have been doing this for some time , i find it happens around this time of the year, and all the chancers and scammers write to you saying AMAZON said my items are lost. this is just one of the many things wrong with this platform, and every year the list grows .....

I'm getting very good at spotting scammers now. The behaviour is all rather predictable. I've had more since, but two really stuck out.

Despite everything, they were very insistent. Again, they were rude, demanded compensation etc. Am I right in thinking that after the first 24 hours, they can file an A-Z if they are not happy?

They seemed determined to get me to refund and not have Amazon anything to do with it. I asked them to confirm their addresses so that Royal Mail and Amazon could investigate and they dropped their complaints.

Is Amazon now actually taking steps to deal with customers who have suspicious amounts of INR's / A-Z's?

Amazons tracking system has always been awful when integrating with other couriers systems.

I have had too many messages to count, in the last 2 weeks ( 4 so far today and it's only 9 am) looking for refunds, because Amazon told the dishonest darlings, their items were lost and about 6 or 7 messages from honest people, saying item has been reported by Amazon as lost and to claim a refund, when they have received it days or weeks ago! It's a losing battle and nothing on this planet, gives your money and stock away, with as much pleasure and vigour as Amazon!

I would say at least 95% of them are scammers and of the other 5% many of them are just people, where the item has been put to one side by someone else in the household or they are away and just because Amazon report the item as lost, claim a refund. Totally soul destroying!

This is the thing that p*sses me off about Amazon - why on earth do they do it? I get three or four chancers a month who get the email and think they can get a freebie even though their order has been delivered. It's a fraudster's wet dream!
