I've been selling books cds on Amazon since late 90's but now I'm using the phone app I often get told to request approval for a seemingly mundane item such as a CD! Having followed the process which involve signing in again and entering a texted number I'm often told there's an error! If I do manage to get permission, I return to list and am told I need to request approval again!
All this and they're not shy in taking a bite from my earnings, if I could find an alternative to Amazon for rare books and CDs etc, I'd have gone years ago!
Any advice or suggestions regarding the above would be gratefully received

Yes, many items now need 'approval' - partly because Amazon do not understand about selling, and there have been a few threads about the issue, especially relating to books and CDs/DVDs etc. There is no way round it - some do get approval straight away, but there are many that don't - some publishers and companies. I sell elsewhere, such as Ebay, but there are other sites for rare books (eg. ABE, Biblio and several others - just google).
I tried to write a similar post yesterday about trying to list a book on Amazon. I wasn't allowed to make the post . .
The "bite out of my earnings" is a very considerable bite!
What is slightly ironic is that this morning I have a "seller poll" which asks "overall are you satisfied with Amazon". Amazon could and should be a great place to sell - if only they would take notice of the many and various problems faced by sellers
