BUYER demands refund (without returning)
hi
a buyer states only part of an order arrived; she demanded a refund without returning the part order.
i stated the return is free and you can just pop into any local store.
she refusing to do so, and just wants a full refund without proof of lost contents etc. she also wants me to send her extra items without paying for them
she has called my wife a liar as we packed the complete order correctly as ordered by the customer.
i stated i would refund on return, and could send the order again.
so should i part refund her and move on or contact Amazon seller support, the cost is only 6 pounds to me.
thank you

Yes, it is always best to quote Amazon policy, so they don’t think it is just you being awkward.

Did you send the item tracked and upload tracking with the shipment? If the customer raises an item not received you’ll lose automatically on a claim.

I have had claims made for non delivery although I have provided Amazon messages where the customer has admitted having the item and the refund and I can go and ‘fu** myself’!
they still upheld the claim and issued the refund!
So, her accepting she received the orders means nothing to Amazon sadly.

then you should notify the police and take them to court

And risk losing your Amazon account when they report you for doing so as, ridiculously, it is against Amazon t&cs for a seller to take legal action against a buyer.
If the item isn’t of a high enough value, most sellers will accept the loss rather than risk that.

I had this this week, it’s infuriating and no matter how much I tried to forget about it, it’s really upsetting that people get away time and time again thieving from small businesses.

whilst if it went to court there is nothing they can do about it, yes, you may lose your acct, but i;d risk it for a high value item. if they became implicit in the fraud but agreeing with the buyer even if they have accepted they received the item, the court would have something to say to amazon too i’d expect. something needs to be done, its getting worse and worse and amazon is just getting worse and worse allowing it to continue.

Its illegal for amazon to do so, so you could then take amazon to court (amazons T&Cs do not outweigh the law) the only question is are you in a position to do that and really you should be because if you are purely relying on amazon your business plan needs looking at, people loose their account for such pathetic reasons with amazon.
Seller_ZQyopdiwkUHOZ
Sure you can, but you’ll still have lost your account, with no guarantee of winning, and legal fees and obligations and a drawn out, stressful court case that you’ll have to deal with while trying to keep afloat now that your business is suffering from no longer operating on Amazon.
If Amazon isn’t an important part of your business, then why would you even still be here anyway? With the mess of a catalogue, the ineptitude of support, the constant errors that randomly drop browse nodes, the bad communication, constantly changing policies, illegal treatment of sellers etc.
If having your account is more valuable to you than punishing the scammer, then you’ll swallow Amazon’s T&Cs even if they are illegal, because that’s the rational decision to take on behalf of your business.

There appears to be a surge in parts missing claims, I have had 3 this week, my items are factory sealed, so automatically ask them to return so I can report to manufacturer, response is can’t return as built item, I just stick to return for refund

how interesting - this has just happened to me today, buyer claims parts missing and wants full refund. Once again, its us Sellers getting scammed.

i wonder if you bought an item from amazon themselves, rec’d it and said you didn’t, would they automatically refund you?
i bet they wouldn’t if it’s been scanned or put through your letterbox.
