Amazon brand registry refuses to change my book to the correct browse node

I am the author, manufacturer, brand registry owner, and only seller of a wilderness survival guide that is currently miscategorized in "tools & home improvement".

I've been going back and forth with totally unhelpful Amazon support representatives for two weeks now about changing the browse node for my book. Amazon reps refuse to believe that my book is a book, saying "books have an author and ISBN". I have provided the author (me) and the ISBN with each of my responses in the support case, only to hear back a refusal to change the browse node because my book "isn't a book". I also provided the Bowker ISBN link to my book's profile page on bookwire to prove that it is a properly registered book in the U.S.

I'm at my wits end. Amazon seller and brand registry customer service experience make Comcast customer service look excellent. I can't believe that no amount of proof or reason can get through to these Amazon representatives after who knows how many exchanges.

My book is a wilderness survival guide of 18,500 words and ~20 illustrations. Amazon currently has it in the browse node "Tools & Home Improvement › Safety & Security", which is obviously wrong.

My book absolutely belongs in "Books > Reference > Survival & Emergency Preparedness"

No amount of proof that it IS a book has gotten through to these representatives and they refuse to acknowledge the proofs that I have provided that IT IS A BOOK. TWO WEEKS of back and forth with them, with total refusal on Amazon's part to do anything about it.

Is there no way to escalate this?

Hi @Seller_3hIzotCsbUGGM,

Daryl here from our Forums team providing additional support to your initial concern.

Apologies on the extensive case creation since reviewing your own experience, I see case ending in 6591 created on 12/11/2023 to our BR team, did take a peak, very counterproductive interaction, for future references I would strongly suggest getting a hold off our "Catalog Team" for these issues.

The newest case ending in 6781 were able to enter the correct browse node, it's almost 3 days since the change implementation, I do want to make sure your listing is showing within the correct category.

Here in forums, we want to action on the evidence we have and present an immediate resolution for "aged cases" such as this, could you please confirm if your book is now having the correct visibility?

I will await your confirmation.
