Return auto-authorised details confusion
The buyer initiated a request return due to 'incompatible or not useful' (item too big).
I do not understand the following as I have not had the item back yet. I checked the Royal Mail tracking, and it says - Sorry, we're currently unable to confirm the status of your item with reference QYxxxx. Please try again tomorrow

After clicking the tracking link on my dashboard, why did it say the carrier picked up the package at that time when the request return had been approved at the same time?

I still have the open returns request on my dashboard - pending actions, waiting for the item back and refund. No contact from the buyer at all.
How long will this return request stay on my SC or will it disappear after 3 months?

It says that on all returns, even if not picked up, check the RM tracking to see if its been dropped off.
You will be able to close the return soon if it doesnt get posted back

To answer your question, the return request will not disappear.
For details on the order please go to:
Menu > Orders > Manage Returns.
Make sure you set the date range wide enough and your auto-authorized return should pop up.
To the right you will also see a menu where you can choose to complete the transaction or contact the buyer etc.
