VAT Deregistration from Germany - success after 2 years!

The bane of our lives for the last 2 years has been deregistering for VAT in DE

We paid AVALARA 150.00 euro to do this, as one of AMZ VAT partners who were inefficient and gave us no simple method to accomplish what was necessary our end.

Finally, we spoke to an amazingly helpful woman called Maggie (Removed by moderator) at SINGULARITY who took me through things step by step and 12 months after all our stock was removed, we contacted German VAT who could not have been more helpful.

We de-registered for VAT in DE at no cost via 2 emails i sent directly to the German authorities and we will now pay SINGULARITY to submit 2024 zero returns and can finally have peace of mind. Now we want to see what we have been charged by AMZ for VAT services during this process and get those fees refunded. That won't be easy and any advice on how to do that would be gratefully received.

What a pointless and stressful nightmare it was to sell in Europe via AMZ who were clueless and no help whatsoever.

They have no appreciation or or meaningful support for their sellers as they jump from one initiative after another they instigate .

If we can help any other sellers with this, please contact us direct at Tribal Steel.

Meanwhile, the contact details we used are:

Finanzamt Hannover-Nord

ZEBU (Central Registration of British Companies)

poststelle fa-h-no.niedersachsen There is a dot de at the end of that, and the at symbol between poststelle and fa.

Do you know if you can speak English when you message them as I have some surcharges that need paying and I also have 1 late vat return that should have been submitted by my previous tax agent as I paid them to deregister me from Germany, but seems they did that and didn't bother fulling in my last vat return but done all the returns before that and now expecting me to full in the vat return and submit it which is impossible for me to know how to do on my own and it's annoying as it is just 0's that is needed.
