USING AMAZON MCF FOR AN ITEM I SOLD ON AMAZON

Hi there,

Is it possible for me to satisfy a merchant order I have received on Amazon from my FBA held stock?

I have sent via MCF before for sales elsewhere but I never seem to be able to find a tracking reference. If I mark an Amazon order as sent and do not complete tracking it will effect my VTR

Thank you

I have done this in the past.

Normally when Amazon despatch they provide you with a tracking reference in the email or in MCF order page.

The only issue I have ever had is that they sometimes take a while to despatch the item and provide the tracking number. This can result in a late despatch defect.

You can do this, but be aware that if the item gets lost during shipment there is a very high chance Amazon may refuse to pay out for it.

As others have confirmed, yes, it is possible.

Yes, you are unlikely to get the tracking code quickly enough to meet your VTR obligations.

And, remember that MCF fees are stupendously high so only do this in an emergency.

Hi Craig, We had to do this as a one off emergency very recently.

We had an item that had sold through FBM but had been in pending state for 6 weeks. We had no problem with stock but we were now wanting to book a family holiday and go away for a couple of weeks.

As you will probably know, regardless of how long an item is in pending state, it still has to be fulfilled if/once the payment clears.

As the FBM order above had been in pending state for so long, we weren't waiting around for it to clear just so we could book our holidays. Sods law, but a week into our two week holiday the pending item cleared (after 7 weeks in pending state)... Typical!

Luckily we also had stock of the same item in an Amazon warehouse (also being sold via FBA) and were able to use MCF to fulfill the FBM order.

We were supposed to have fulfilled the FBM order and shipped it by the Mon 5th Aug with a delivery date shown to the buyer of Thurs 8th Aug.

Through MCF we booked in the FBM order on Sunday 4th Aug and it said they would dispatch it Mon 5th Aug with delivery Thur 8th Aug which tallied up perfectly with the original FBM order.

Unfortunately and as others have pointed out. Amazon can be a bit slow at dispatching MCF orders. Although Amazon did initially say they would dispatch it on Mon 5th Aug they didn't actually dispatch our order and provide tracking info to us until Tues 6th Aug - a day later that it was due to be sent. I just hope regardless of whether it was sent on the 5th or 6th it still gets to the customer on the 8th as promised on the FBM order page and as promised on the MCF booking page.

The only issue here is that the FBM order will have a mark against it as being dispatched a day late in our situation. I suppose it is whatever you consider to be the lesser of two evils.

Do you ship it, hope it gets there the same day as promised via the FBM route or do you cancel the pending order that has cleared?

Thankfully this was a one-off but pending orders can be a real pain in the backside.

There is also the costs to consider. We're not quite sure yet as we have not looked at the payments but there is the possibility of being charged twice. Once for FBM (referral fee) order and again to fulfill it by MCF (fulfillment/shipping fee) . Would be interesting if anyone else knows this question!
