Sudden Restock Limits- Inventory En Route!?

Hi there
I am having a bit of a meltdown about the new restock limits. I created 4 shipments back in March when i was well within my threshold. All 4 shipments are ‘en route’ from China to their designated FBA warehouses.
Despite a good IPI of 616, according to this very sudden restock limits change, i now have double the amount coming in that i am allowed!!
What will happen when these shipments get to Amazon? Do they destroy? Will they accept the shipments but charge me vast excess inventory fees?
I am a small business operating from home. I have nowhere to store the excess inventory. I cannot believe Amazon can do this. If they were planning om reducing the restock limits they should not have allowed me to replenish inventory! Help!! Suggestions?

Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to your question in terms of what they do with the stock. I have a feeling they reject it, but honestly don’t know.
We’re the same with business from home. We’ve built the way we do business on being able to get stock straight to Amazon - as of today we’re having to look at storage units, vans, alternate storage locations and all sorts of things. Completely out of the blue and really left with no obvious options.

Hi,

Yes the new re-stock limits are a nightmare, especially for a seasonal business with fluctuating sales volumes. We pay for storage units but will have to add another one now Amazon are making us take stock back. I’d suggest trying to talk to Amazon, failing that find some storage units so if your stock is rejected by the fulfilment centre you have somewhere to send it!

Also check out Huboo, as you can link your Amazon account to them for independent storage and seller fulfilment. Just gives you another option.

Good Luck!

This happened us a few weeks ago with an order en route to DE. Amazon cancelled the shipment but allowed it to be received, we where lucky in the fact it seemed to be their error and we where just under the units allowed. I hope it works out for you. The new limits are killing us with all our seasonal stock just coming in

I believe they will simply reject whatever’s over your limits. What happens then will (presumably) be between you and your appointed courier/carrier.

If my previous answer is right, this question is redundant.

Then you may have to find somewhere. Just above my post, @Eco_Power_Shop_UK has made a helpful suggestion.

I’ve actually had a shipment cancelled whilst in transit, due to the individual inventory limits, that were.
All that actually happened, was that they received them and put them into stock, as if the shipment hadn’t been cancelled.
So I wouldn’t worry unduly about it. They more than likely will accept it, but you will probably get a slap on the wrists for it, along with excess storage charges, if they don’t move quickly.

Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions. I actually created a case this morning, not expecting to get back any helpful response, but this is the reply…

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

I understand that you are concerned for the shipments sent prior the decrease of restock limits.

I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

In this regard, I would suggest you to wait till your shipments reaches our warehouses. As you have sent the shipments prior, they will be received by our warehouse team.

The rest was a standard copied and pasted unhelpful robot reply. I have responded asking ‘What then? Do the shipments get added to my inventory as normal but then will be subject to huge overage/excess inventory fees if i dont immediately remove?’

Hoping to get something in writing that i can fall back on- will add response to the thread!

Use self storage, if they will refuse your stock, very handy and cheap solution. I do it that way

Having the same problems, not just ordering ,pricing and stranded inventory impossible. to correct and no help from Amazon to correct problems
