Fake Authenticity Claim Very Odd
Hello people,
After Reading a lot and e-mails back and forth to amazon i have concluded i am not experienced enough to deal with this odd issue.
-i bought some items from my local ‘home bargains’
-listed them under a well established listing with 4 other sellers on.
-received an e-mail which read:
‘We removed some of your listings because you are offering items that may be inauthentic’
-obviously i contested this immediately, uploading my ‘home bargains’ receipt.
-receipts show items were bought on the 26th, i then listed them on the 27th,
so they can see i had the physical stock.
-the e-mail states receipts are accepted: ‘Copies of invoices, receipts, contracts’.
however a scan of this receipt (as clear as humanly possible) is persistently rejected.
and i do not think it is because its unclear.
on some of my appeals i received this message:
'please relist this asin and then appeal it so we can look, we can not locate this asin at this time in your inventory.
-tried to relist it, and amazon have put restrictions on the listing in the last few days after i was removed from listing it,
making it impossible for me to relist.
i also received this e-mail:
‘We cannot accept this invoice because it does not include the items listed below.’
but it absolutely Does indicate this item and other items from the same family of item.
it is very clear to see and the dates match perfectly when it was bought and advertised for sale.
so im not sure which it is, they can’t find the listing or the exact item is not visible on the receipt? obviously receipts are lightly abbreviated, but i would say this is one of the more obvious receipts showing the brand and subtype.
its a bit of a long one and odd,
some people have just said to keep uploading it, but that seems silly and i don’t want to cause any hassle, ive already tried 6 times.
thank you all.

P.S i am so concerned about this as this defect (for some reason) has appeared as a strike in my ‘customer authenticity complaints’
baring in mind the item was never sold it is not possible a customer reported this.
so why its a strike, and why amazon decided it may be fake i really can’t fathom.
Thanks.

It’s tough to fight the claim since Amazon are looking for a valid supply chain and sourcing from a retailer doesn’t provide that. If you’ve yet to sell one then it is either a competitor, the brand owner, or a random check. I guess it could also be that a buyer bought from another seller and made a complaint so Amazon are checking all sellers on the listing.

This is the wrong advice. Relisting the ASIN again could just result in another variation or indeed an account suspension.
Often Amazon will not let you relist the same ASIN again once you have an inauthentic claim against in. This is why you have to go down the appeal route and prove a valid supply chain to be trusted to sell that ASIN again.
Other sellers have also been buying from retailers and having inauthentic claims. These may be coming from other competitors which is showing that this is becoming a very ruthless business to be in, it also shows that you have to be able to prove a full supply chain when asked.

Simply don’t do this. Once you buy it this way it’s not new and you are effectively selling “used as new”. Do not source your goods from retail outlets.

i cant see how your receipts would be accepted as all of both yours and your suppliers details have to be on it and as others have said it has to be a proper invoice from a wholesaler or brand owner

Please let us know how you get on .
As Amazon seems to have a lot of sellers doing this .

The simplest way of putting this for the future millionaires wondering why they can’t just buy items from anywhere and sell them as new…
It’s like a car, it’s only NEW when you’re the first person on the logbook, as soon as it has previous owners, it’s used.
Or like buying a Sony TV from Currys and selling it to a mate before you took it out of the box for a profit, if your mate didn’t buy it from a legitimate business, with a reciept and proof of purchase, you can bet your a$$ Sony won’t be entertaining any claims for a faulty TV in 6 months.
You can’t operate like a market trader and expect to be treated the same as real businesses

It will be a few hours of admin most likely. But if it is worth it for you to appeal. Firstly find a wholesaler a reputable large wholesaler and buy 10 units of the item you were selling. Do a Plan of Action (see the forums for help) and explain how buying from a retail store was a mistake and the steps you have taken to change this (such as buying from a reputable wholesaler) etc etc.
It is a really pain and you may have to tweek and submit multiple times.
Hope you get it sorted!
