Now being charged VAT for items posted to Jersey, Channel Islands
I am not VAT registered nor do I need to be – below VAT threshold, I only sell in the UK. However today I receive two orders from Jersey where VAT has been taken, this has not happened before, I fulfil orders myself and the item is low value – a personalised label.
Have the rules changed?

does the Jersey address have United Kingdom on it on the order ?
often they do and theres no VAT issues
if the address doesn’t have UK, VAT will have been removed (or VAT equivalent if not registered) and will be treated as a non uk order

I actually didn’t notice until this thread made me look into it.
I don’t sell overseas because I didn’t want to deal with the whole VAT thing, and hadn’t removed JE/GY because it wasn’t supposed to affect orders under £60.
Should I have sent that order IOSS or something?
(have now removed Channel Islands from my shipping template, hoping that Amazon don’t go by country though, as most (if not all) select United Kingdom as their country - though it didn’t stop Amazon fixing the VAT, so maybe its another thing their fixing “behind the scenes”
