Seller approval problem
I’ve been selling books that I don’t want any more on Amazon marketplace, but recently it’s become all but impossible to list anything. Whatever I try and sell, it says I need approval, makes me watch the counterfeiting video, fill in a form, then gives me approval, and then still says I can’t sell it. Anyone else getting this problem. I must have been using marketplace for 20 years and this has only just started becoming a problem. Currently I can’t list anything at all.

Yes, as a bookseller I too find that many seem to ask for approval.
Basically Amazon do not fully understand the book selling industry, or the diffenrce between publishers and manufacturers !
Quite often it is books published in US. The book catalogue has become a real nightmare over the years.
Sell them elsewhere.
Hopefully you are not trying to list any of them in ‘New’ condition ?

I’m not even able to get as far as listing them. I click on the ‘sell on Amazon’ button and it immediately takes me to the approval page. It’s crazy! They’re just stopping me using their platform.

Can someone explain why some books require approval? I would understand if they were “Adult Fiction” but history books and other non-fiction books? Also what is the process involved?

It is not just books but a lot of items that are sold on Amazon may need approval. Approval will depend on what you are selling, condition etc.
For instance you may have books that don’t need approval to sell on Amazon but you maybe restricted to only sell the books second hand.
The question is really open ended and the requirements for approval are getting more stringent as time goes by.
The process involved is dependent on the reason you are being asked for approval but you would need to go through seller support.
