Amazon insurance question

Hey everyone,

I'm being asked for insurance as I'm now over the marker to need it.

However, I want to go with the company that Amazon recommend and find that they are asking about category and I'm not sure which one to go for.

My book is under this category on Amazon

Home & Kitchen›Kitchen & Dining›Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets›Kitchen Accessories›Cookbook Stands & Recipe Holders›Recipe Holders

Which category should I go for with Marsh?

Thank you

Do your research before you buy. If you buy from some of those online Insurance companies that Amazon recommends, see who owns them. They have no real street address, only a phone number, and are only shell company owned by another, shell company, owned by another shell company, owned by Amazon Holdings Inc. It is easy to look up who they are and what state or country their licensed is issued.

If you really want insurance, fond a local Independant Insurance Agent. They will find you a real policy and be there when you want to ask questions.

In addition, what you sell is important to an insurance company. Selling hard durable goods like you stated is a lot different than selling foods and products that buyers have to ingest.

Marsh is not a shell company it is a major business broker from small to Fortune 500.

I’d use Home and Kitchen. They asking to make sure your not selling a high risk of lawsuits products.

When we had to get this insurance and asked our current business insurance agent and two of the Amazon partners for quotes. All were close, so we stayed with our existing agent.

Good Luck.

Hi @Seller_gQbSFmRyrZxXZ,

Steve from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out in the Forums. You can choose any insurance provider you would like for commercial liability insurance as long as the policy meets all the requirements listed here.

To help you easily and affordably secure liability insurance, we have worked with an insurance broker to create Amazon Insurance Accelerator, a network of insurance providers who will evaluate and, if appropriate, offer liability insurance at competitive rates to qualifying sellers. You can learn more about Amazon Insurance Accelerator and contact the providers here.

Please let me know if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

Steve

"...insurance at competitive rates..."

We know what that's worth then....

Just look what they say they offer and what they deliver with buy/ship.

We get the BEST deal by bundling our Insurance policies, both personal and business with one major nationally recognized insurance company.

By bundling with a single large company, we get discounts for multiple policies.

Some insurance companies do not offer this, and some are too small to risk all of your eggs in a single company's basket.

But if you use a large enough one, this will not be a problem, as even a total loss for you would not force them into bankruptcy.

Good Luck!

We chose Simple from Amazon Accelerator. Before filing a claim, you never know it's good or not.

I would advise you to shop around and get the cheapest possible insurance. Keep in mind the insurance doesn't cover you, it covers Amazon. So if something happens and the insurance company doesn't pay Amazon, that's Amazon's problem not yours.

We went through this a few months ago...shopped around and found that our house/car insurance company offer exactly what amazon required. However Amazon bots kept throwing it back...saying it didn't meet the requirements (it did). Finally got a email from a actual person saying it did meet the requirements but because it wasn't on the list of Amazon recommended companies that the bots would do a sweep every 6-12 months and we'd have the same problem unless we switched of having to jump through hoops to talk to someone. So we are paying $15 more a month now through someone on their "list".
