I have been trying for over a year to sell a book with Amazon but every time a customer clicks on the item nothing appears in the shopping basket and I make no sale. Does anyone know why?

I have found a small box to tick next to the item marked “active”. We’ll see if that does the trick.

Just to say that you can not add your own products to your shopping basket.
This is prohibited and can get your account deactivated for manipulation and misuse of sales rankings.
So don’t try to replicate what your “customers” are reporting.

Have you had messages from customers telling you this ?
Are you sure you have a number in the quantity box and it isn’t at 0 ?
As anglozone says - you cannot try and add your own stock to your basket.

Finally, can you tell me why there is a yellow wheel revolving under the “Fee Preview” heading and the significance of the “£4.22” amount?

You may want to edit the title, as your listing can be suppressed from search results because of the question mark in it.
- Titles must not exceed 200 characters, including spaces.
- Titles must not contain promotional phrases, such as “free shipping”, “100% quality guaranteed”.
3. Titles must not contain characters for decoration, such as ~ ! * $ ? _ ~ { } # < > | * ; ^ ¬ ¦
Also the main image does not comply as it should have a white background, another reason for it not to show on searches.
If the image is yours, that would put me off as you are listing the book as NEW (with a basic individual selling account) and the image, apart from not complying does not look like a new book.

Hi Tracy, Thanks for your reply. Do you mean that the book itself should be sitting on a white background rather than a green one? I’ll try that but the book itself is white and I would think that it would show up less clearly. The image is a computer generated drawing but thanks for your advice on its appearance. It is very niche market but the issues that I have had seem to have been technical as until recent adjustments were made the rubric said “not currently available”. With that removed I can start sales.
