Help with understanding the new On-Time Delivery Rate
Hello,
For the life of me I cannot understand how and why this new on-time delivery rate metric works. First of all, one of the worst updates to Amazon since I have been selling on this platform. I see this new on-time delivery metric either putting sellers out of business left and right AND getting Amazon into a class action lawsuit for becoming a monopoly due to their buy shipping option being the only way to protect yourself for late delivery of an item. Whereas if I use the exact same shipping option with the same carrier purchased elsewhere, I am not protected. Classic monopoly.
Anyway, I have attached my current data on my on-time delivery rate. I've always been at 100-97% for on time delivery. With this new update, it is at 55%. However, it says that my items arrives 1.9 days before the promise date? Yet I have a 55% on-time delivery rate? This entire metric doesn't make sense. I'm hoping the Amazon community can explain this new system to have it make more sense and what I can do to hedge against this.

If you are selling FBM, the On-Time delivery shouldn't matter if you ship the same day on next. We had our handling time set to the default 5 days, Amazon changed it to 2 days, and the products still get there ahead of delivery window.

Hello @Seller_S8C5pwae9GxqM
Thank you for the information provided regarding the On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) metric. I understand that recently your metric has been impacted by orders that have not been delivered by the date expected. Have you attempted to download the report associated and review the specific orders included in the metric? If so, have you identified where the discrepancies are in the information showing for the delivery date?
We would recommend opening a case with the necessary evidence if you believe the metric to be incorrect. We can review and attempt to further understand where the issue is occurring and identify what steps may be available for our team to take. Please be aware that if we do identify that the orders were delivered after the deliver by date, we will not be able to take additional actions on this.
Best,
Atlas
