approval process for selling tea

I am a self employed business. My business is tea. I sell tea containers, tea bags and bulk tea powder. The tea has different flavors and is high quality. The tea is imported from a tea farmer in Sri Lanka.

I want to sell tea bags on Amazon. I'm wondering what are the steps to get approved for this. I have already looked at https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/201511970 (Grocery & Gourmet Foods) but I would like some more detailed information on what kind of certifications, documents and information I need to generally provide in the approval process.

You will need to check with the FDA for import requirements. Then you need to check with Amazon on their requirements for selling groceries. groceries is a gated category and usually they wont approve you unless you have sales experience with this product. Not that it couldn't happen, I have seen it happen, but when they follow policy, they may not let you in. You should be aware of this when you spend money getting paperwork together.
