Re-using a SKU on a different ASIN

I have been going back and forth with Amazon support with a simple issue I am having loading a SKU onto a branded ASIN.

I have done this many times before (re-using SKUs) and it seems to be an issue with this particular SKU.

Using inventory loader, I receive an ASIN mismatch error when trying to load the SKU and support keeps saying I can't reuse a SKU.

Has anyone else had trouble doing this?

SKU has been deleted many times using inventory loader template with value of 'x' for add-delete field, but always receive the same ASIN mismatch error.
