Posting to BFPO address

Sent an order to a BFPO address on 10th May using label generated via Click & Drop. This is the second order to the same address (previous one went out early April and arrived successfully). Don’t get many to BFPO so didn’t give it a thought when we prepared this second one to send
Postie has returned it to us today with a big sticker on it saying that things changed on 1 January regarding posting to BFPO address and the package does not comply with international customs regs. . On checking is seems that the change was enforced 4th May but can’t figure out what we should do
Looks to me as though we just need to put a CN22 on it ?
Can someone clarify?

Did you use the BFPO option in click and drop or just enter the address as normal?

I’ve changed my Shipping Settings to now exclude BFPO address’s. I am using Amazon Buy Shipping and keep getting them returned.

BPFO items (excluding letters) have always needed a CN22 - nothing has changed, IMO and according to the RM website https://www.royalmail.com/sending/hm-forces
