A to Z claim after buyer returns us an empty bottle
Order number 206-3888087-3341934
Buyer had used the product and then returned us an empty bottle saying item didnt work. We are retailers and not manufactueres of the product. Informed the buyer about this but he said he bought it from us so we are liable. No evidence provided what so ever if the product worked or didnt work for him. We had closed the return request without refunding him, he then went on to open a claim stating item defective, and amazon granted him a full refund and gave us an ODR. This is a new type of fraud buyers are doing, using the contents of the bottle and then returning empty bottles back saying item defective. Have appealed but as usual no luck.

Your tags need to be highlighted in blue. You need to select from dropdown once you start typing their names - they won't be seen if not highlighted.

So the return wasn't auto-refunded? If so then the usual procedure is to issue a refund of the minimum amount (I think it's 1p) and give the reasons for the deduction. It doesn't stop the buyer opening an a-z claim though which rarely don't get granted in the buyers favour. I wish Amazon would explain why some orders aren't auto-refunded. If they have I missed that bit.
