Pending Orders over 10 days

Hello

I have noticed recently there has been a number of pending orders, this is where the buyer puts the order in the basket and does not go to checkout. If the buyer debit card or credit card has expired then you would have thought the customer would resolve that the same day. Amazon would also see that the card has not expired. If the customer wants the item delivered quickly then you would have thought the buyer would go to the checkout. Originally on the pending order status we used to see the customer name since the update this is no longer available.

So my question is why would someone put an item in the basket and wait 10 days then cancel? is there some sort of metric that we don’t know about?

Long Pending Orders are usually cancelled automatically by Amazon because there isn’t enough funds available to cover the charge.

If your buyer’s card was genuinely expired, it would be rejected instantly and require to be replaced.

:point_up_2: Incorrect. A pending order is when the buyer has actually placed the order - but yes as Kika said - there is usually a problem with the buyers payment card, or Amazon is doing their usual verification checks (on the buyer).
Pending Order have nothing to do with items in the buyers Shopping Basket.
