Anyone figure out how to change their UPC's?
9 years ago when I started this business, I bought UPC's from a 3rd party, which turned out to not be good and Amazon started locking access to editing the listings. They said I needed genuine UPC's from GS1, which is what I ultimately did purchase. However, their system will not allow me to change the UPC. I get this "notorious" 8541 error. I've made many, many attempts to fix it. Gone round and round in circles with Amazon Support, and scoured the web to find a solution. Amazon's canned response solution is to delete the listing, wait 24 hours, then reupload it with the new UPC. This didn't work after several attempts.
I suspect this is part of my fall from Grace (business down about 35%), as many of my listings have this "Improve listing quality" suggestion, on top of the bad UPC issue. According to my own findings on the web, I believe the Amazon algo favors listings with no errors/issues.
I will note that I did find one possible solution here on the forums, but it's not an ideal solution. They mentioned to create a duplicate of the "bad" listing using new sku and UPC, join them as a variation to share the feedback, run the old listing out of stock, switch to using new listing. I think this might work, but I rather not clutter up my account any more than I have to, and I have preprinted 1,000's of barcodes that I'd have to change.
Appreciate anyone's help!!

Some maybe but not all for certain!
My YTD is down 30% (I did take a couple weeks off for trips though) so you are not alone on a sales decline.
I like the creative "solution" since I am in the same boat with UPC numbers. Mine is a bit more complicated since Amazon has also changed the packaging/labeling requirements and I will have to redo literally everything.
I'm just going to sell my own brand elsewhere and use what I have already invested in.
Good luck!

Can any of you gentlemen help me? My most recent case number on this issue is: 15145358431
I don't believe deleting my listing and reposting the next day is the true solution. I followed their instructions and attempted over 10 times.
