Seller University has an entire section on feature offer (buy box) eligibility - check it out and learn!

You need to gain sales history, good account metrics...it is not automatic. Take TarponTB's advice and go to Seller University and do some research.

Until you get at least some sales (and probably at least one feedback), you won't get the BB. Even then, no guarantee.

I've had no reviews as a new seller and was able to win the buy box quite consistently on multiple ASINs for the same product. Based on my experience, pricing is dominantly the most important factor.
I suggest you try pricing your item at least $1-$2 below the lowest seller, and ensure you shipping speed is competitive.
