New to selling on amazon
Dear all,
I’m new to selling on amazon.
I was charged £30 on my credit card for the professional seller’s account… I’m not actually a business and simply wanted to become an individual seller and sell the odd thing.
I mainly want to sell Video games soundtracks which are hard to find.
Anyway, I have just been charged £30 for the professional seller’s account, I have downgraded now…but looks like I will not be getting a refund…
My question is…until I’m downgraded…if I sell something while on a professional account, does it mean I have to pay taxes and inform HMRC? I’m a little confused
can someone advise?

Little_Shop has explained well.
There is no such thing as a Professional ACCOUNT, only the Pro Selling Plan (which is the £30 a month)
If you are actually buying items to sell on for profit then you need to be registered with HMRC as self-employed (probably sole-trader), and have a BUSINESS Seller Account on Amazon, not an Individual Account - which is ONLY for selling off your own personal second-hand items, and not new items.

Sorry to bother you again, I have managed to request a refund…currently I cannot add any items, it says they are verifying my credit card, I have been charged a £1.00 charge on my card and also the £30.00…but any idea when I can start selling my items?

If you’re only planning to sell 30 items - video games soundtracks, right? - presumably on vinyl and/or CD - I think selling on Discogs would be a much better option for you
