ANY REASON FOR SLOW SALE RATE? 2025

It's my first year and I don't really know how the January-March season goes but it seems slow to me and my BSR is falling as compared to my competitors.

Any words on it?

Unfortunately, no such generic reason exists for a BSR that falls. There are, literally, billions of possibilities. It ranges from the time of the year...to your product category....to what color your item is....to even how Westerners are responding to your category in 2025

Sales always fall for us after Christmas, we've been selling on Amazon for 15 years.

The holiday season has ended, and with it comes severe weather, including snow storms and fires. So much is happening, but it's important to remain patient and have faith.

We also are experiencing slow sales since Christmas. We are a 10 year seller and average about 100 orders per day previously. Now our new normal is about 80 per day. Nothing has changed on our end.

Thirteen-year seller here, books and ephemera(booklets, historical pamphlets, maps etc) We're doing 10% less than usual but we're not a high-volume seller. This is our high season-people are usually indoors, cozying up to a book, paid w/ a holiday gift card. Low season begins nearer Tax Time, goes thru the summer. Just depends on the merchandise you sell.

One coast is afire and the other is freezing, even areas in the south that rarely see snow. Where homes/interstates/streets aren't constructed for this type of weather, cold/snow/ice are disruptive. Much of the country has no power. One can't expect normal sales in these conditions.

Today we sold to buyer who lives 15 miles from the latest fire in CA. That's either optimistic or fool-hardy!

Hi there @Seller_piHEobzdiY6Yi and thanks for starting this discussion to baseline with other sellers. I appreciate the community offering some thoughts on seasonality already!

In case there is any useful information for you, I'll share some resource on boosting sales through promotions, optimizing product listings, and using search terms effectively, as potential steps you can take to help drive more activity.

I do hope you see this trend shift in the days and weeks to come, and again appreciate your bringing this discussion to the seller forums community.

Best,

Danny

Slowest January for us in over 10 years. Credit card debt just hit a 12 year high. Many people are tapped out.

Today is the 27th. I've had 10 sales so far this month. Typically, I've been getting 35-60 a month for the last year. Even if I get a couple more before the end of the month, it will be the 3rd lowest month since I started selling on here back in 2010.

And revenue has dropped like 80% over the average month the last year. I dunno if its worth putting much effort into this venue much more.
