INFORM Consumers Act - CREDIT UNION Verification
Hello,
I am trying to verify my bank account per the INFORM CONSUMERS ACT requirements. Amazon wants me to upload a bank statement that shows the last 4 digits of my bank account number. My bank account is at a credit union, and they put my credit union MEMBER NUMBER as my account number on the statement. This is different from my account number as used by Amazon to send disbursements. There is no way to get the account number to appear in the statement instead of the member number. This is just how credit unions work, and I have seen many similar posts in the forums.
What can be done to verify my bank account?

I have the exact same issue. I went to the credit union yesterday trying to explain this particular issue and also contacted Seller Support and got nowhere.

Why you don't just open an account with another bank, or with Payoneer, for example. This is done quickly and easily and online.

Exact same issue. My credit union is DCU. I've been getting Amazon deposits for 15 years. Guess I'll look at Payoneer.

Yeah i could do the same if it comes to that. I just know others are getting verified with their credit union as there is someone that commented in my post that it went through with their direct deposit form with statement. Having a credit union isn't rare so this issue is very odd. I really hope it goes through so I don't have to call again. I have lost so much time on the phone and worrying about this.

Ugh.. have you tried adding a direct deposit form with the bank statement? In my post that worked for someone. Having to change banks over this would be maddening. :(

Actually, I uploaded a picture of a check, since that has the name and account number. Not very confident that that will be accepted.

I might have a solution, at least in my case. My Member Number is on my statements and if deposits are made using my member number, it will go into my Savings. Hopefully Amazon will accept the Member Number on the statement as the Account number.

that's what my credit union said would happen if i just use account number it will go to savings. I was able to get a pdf of my direct deposit form from my credit union app.. then i combined it with my statement and saved as a pdf and named it with my credit union and month.. who knows. It's still in progress for me but if it doesnt' go through just the account number alone will be my next try. Still makes zero sense that too many of the support help don't know the difference between a MICR # and account number with a credit union.. Some do and that's why i kept calling for help b/c some of the people i got on the phone did understand.

I bank with DCU as well and ended up going to a branch.
They printed out an Account Activity Letter for the entire month of may. On there, it shows the account number that my Amazon payments are deposited into.
Also, I had the bank notarize each page. I scanned and uploaded as a pdf. Got the verification email today, took 6 days for me.
Quick question, I got the verification email as well as it's showing "Verified" under my deposit method. But when I goto my account health, it says pending for Banking deposit. I think I read somewhere that it may take 24 hrs for that one page to update?

I downloaded a direct deposit form too, and have it all ready for my next try. In fact I wish I could cancel the In Progress one now, and upload this instead. The direct deposit form does match both the name and account # exactly.

We have the exact same problem. Then I tried to add the same bank account again and that was probably a mistake. Now I might have to go through everything again, and again. This is so confusing an frustrating.

Hi - did you ever get this resolved with amazon? We opened a new account & then tried to add it & it wouldn't allow us. We've been de-activated.
