INFORM Consumers Act - CREDIT UNION Verification

Hello,

I am trying to verify my bank account per the INFORM CONSUMERS ACT requirements. Amazon wants me to upload a bank statement that shows the last 4 digits of my bank account number. My bank account is at a credit union, and they put my credit union MEMBER NUMBER as my account number on the statement. This is different from my account number as used by Amazon to send disbursements. There is no way to get the account number to appear in the statement instead of the member number. This is just how credit unions work, and I have seen many similar posts in the forums.

What can be done to verify my bank account?

I have the exact same issue. I went to the credit union yesterday trying to explain this particular issue and also contacted Seller Support and got nowhere.

Why you don't just open an account with another bank, or with Payoneer, for example. This is done quickly and easily and online.

Can we get an official bank statement in time if we open up a new account at a bank? Clocks a ticken, but maybe it would work?

Seller support is so hit and miss. Keep calling until someone understands. I have called 7 times and calls 1 and 2 were useless. If one person doesn't understand. Call again. Don't call just account health, but call account support too. Try and escalate it if you have to. That's what i'm doing if my latest bank statement upload doesn't work b/c of this. I know others must be having their credit union direct deposit MICR checking number going through.. I'm sure a ton of sellers use credit unions. It's maddening and stressful :(

Nobody can say that. With all this millions of reverifications any action by Amazon is taking MUCH longer. But since you know that your statement will not be accepted you have no choice. Maybe your account will be deactivated for some days or weeks but after sending a correct bank statement it will be reactivated again.

Ok Heather, I went in and added a new deposit method. I used the exact same account but when putting in the account number I omitted the last 3 digits of the account number which now matches my statement. Hopefully if and when it gets verified, I will then delete the other one. Fingers crossed.

My credit union said if i did that it will just deposit to savings vs checking. Which is fine I guess. I'd like it to continue to go to checking like it always has with my direct deposit number. I'm still showing as "in progress" for verifying. I'll comment again if it works. If it doesn't my next step would be that.. just acct number then routing and that would just go to savings and call again. :(

Heather, If the verification goes through and it goes into my savings rather than checking, I can live with that. I also, prefer checking, but I will just have to get into the habit of going online and transferring the money, probably on the day it gets deposited. Actually, I think I can set up auto transfers from savings to checking. The other option is once this verification is settled, I could open up a new account at a bank.

Any update on yours? Mine is still "in progress". We really shouldn't have to open a new bank as i'm sure having a credit union business account is not a rare thing. I see support has replied in this discussion so hopefully we will be ok as they are hopefully helping us now. Fingers crossed!

Exact same issue. My credit union is DCU. I've been getting Amazon deposits for 15 years. Guess I'll look at Payoneer.

I downloaded a direct deposit form too, and have it all ready for my next try. In fact I wish I could cancel the In Progress one now, and upload this instead. The direct deposit form does match both the name and account # exactly.
