8541 error EU

we got multiple listings in all the EU marketplaces with the same issue

there is a matching error 8541 on the item_name value

and it makes no sense for two reasons:

1. this is the error message that I receive upon opening the Edit page for any listing or trying to update via upload, the message itself as follows: "The value 'ABC' specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value 'ABC' for ASIN Z in the Amazon catalogue. If this is ASIN 'Z', update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/EAN/Part Number/etc)."

value 'ABC' specified here 100% identical to value 'ABC' for ASIN Z in the Amazon catalogue, so I do not get it how there is a conflict if this error message returns two exactly the same values for a proposed one and for the one in the Amazon catalog.

2. the error message always contains item_name values that belong to a different marketplace, such as, if I work on a listing in DE marketplace, the error message will contain values in Italian, not in German as one would expect.

countless case with the [Seller Support] team got us no resolution, it's always the same , they keep replying that to solve this issue we must update this ASINs data with the value that is set for this ASIN in the Amazon catalogue, but that's impossible for these two reasons explained above. on some random cases we were able to get support team to perform a backend update , not sure if they actually updated anything since nothing changed and the problem still shows on the edit page.

I see loads of articles here regarding 8541 error, but did anyone had it with such circumstances ? any suggestions on how to solve it?

I did,

and this is my issue mentioned in this article:

"I have a conflict but the error message cites a value in the wrong language

Amazon checks some attributes globally, not specific to a regional store. So these attributes will be checked against ASIN and SKU values for all stores, not just for the store you are submitting on. If you are receiving an error message in one store with a language relevant to another, you need to check submissions in other stores for the conflict and resolve this before you can submit data to any other store. Contact Selling Partner Support if you need help identifying the conflict source."

Solution to this is to contact Selling Partner Support, I have already opened countless tickets, but no support was provided.

never mind I have already sorted out this issue by myself. I had to test out all sorts of ideas that I thought could work util it actually worked.

seller support sucks , they are getting less and less helpful day by day. not only they don't know how to solve a problem, they don't bother to read what kind of an issue sellers facing, they just look for a keyword and give a generic response even if it's irrelevant to the actual issue that was reported.

Hi,

i have exactly the same problem. i created my initial german ASIN in the other 6 PAN-EU marketplaces (i used an amazon tool to create the international offer). since then, i can no longer edit the ASIN on any of the marketplaces. just like you, the system says that the title is in the wrong language.

i tried a lot (also with flatfiles). unfortunately the support didn't want to help me. just like you, the answers were generic and no help at all (just a waste of time).

can you please tell me how you solved the problem?

I have BIL activated and DE market is the source market, so I thought I 'd delete the ASIN from the inventory there and review titles in the rest of the markets one by one.

after deleting I went ahead to every market and the error 8541 didn't pop in any of them (it was showing on the ASIN in every market prior).

but in 2 markets I had a different issue with the titles which would not show before (I guess 8541 overrides all other issues) - item_name value has a limit of how many times one word can be used, and there was the issue;

so I eliminated repetition in the titles in those markets, went ahead to double check that no other issues appeared in any EU market and re-listed this ASIN back in DE market.

that was it
