Late Dispatch Rate - Account at Risk Of Deactivation

Hi

I’m just after a little advice please.

Due to sudden, unexpected serious illness, we were late in dispatching some orders and we have a banner saying that our account is at risk of deactivation.

This has never happened in all the years we have traded and I’ll take steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Our 10 Day Rate is 10.64% but our 30 Days is 2.08%. The 30 day one is likely to slowly move up to 4% and assuming sales the same as last year will hover between 3-4% for the next 30 day period.

My questions are:, Which of the 2 metrics triggers deactivation? Will it be sudden?

Thanks

No one really knows, and provided it’s a one off it may get ignored and the warning just drop off. In addition you would likely just get asked for a plan of action first in any instance.

This may change with the new account health changes coming in this year though.

Amber or red?

If it’s amber, get as many orders shifted as promptly as possible to bring the rate down. It is unlikely that you will be suspended for an amber warning, though you may still be asked to provide of POA (as @osgood) says. If it’s red then you may receive a suspension without warning but it may also be a POA request.

In either event, you need sales and despatches done quickly in order to bring the rates down swiftly. Amazon also expect sellers to have plans in place to deal with such issues as unexpected events. There should always be somebody available to take up the reins, in the event that you cannot perform your duties. Easier said than done, I know, but that is their requirement. If you have to send in a POA, that will be a required part of it.

It was a while ago now back in the pandemic when I had a similar issue and I couldn’t despatch items and my Late Despatch Rate went really high along with my ODR.

Unlike you I couldn’t start despatching again for many weeks so my late despatch rate never got diluted. I wasn’t suspended but had warning emails from Amazon so you may (on my experience) be okay.

I now have contingency measures in place now for serious illness which wasn’t in place before. I would say to any seller reading this you should be prepared for something such as this you will never know when it will happen to you.

Hope you are feeling better now
