SHIPPING CREDITS WAY TOO LOW - AMAZON NEED TO INCREASE THEM FOR SELLERS
I dont think Amazon have increased sellers postage credits for donkeys years even though postage goes up annually or more frequently. For example i sell a lot of double CDs and get a credit of £1.26...you cant even send a letter for that! Amazon insist on tracked to comply with VTR and it costs me £5.09 Royal Mail 2nd so you can see the huge discrepancy! I realise there are slightly cheaper selling methods but you get the point....but Amamzon dont seem to. AMAZON WHEN WILL YOU BE REVIEWING THESE SHIPPING CREDITS??

When you say Royal Mail 2nd at £5.09 - exactly what level of service are you actually using there?

I can't see any RM price, tracked or untracked, that would be £5.09, unless you're buying postage over the counter..
2nd class Tracked 48 is £3.39 through Click & Drop, not that you need to send tracked to satisfy VTR, just enter the 2D tracking number when marking despatched.
Or just buy the postage through Amazon.

That below would be an issue for VTR would it not? Unless you are getting some form of proof of postage from the post office....also - could you just not build the excess into the product price?

If you have a pro/subscription account you can set up your own postage templates.
If not, simply factor your p&P costs into the selling price. That's no big deal as Amazon displays offers in order of total price, including postage.
The current RM online price for a small packet is £3.19 2nd class ( or £3.99 1st class).
£5.09 is the counter price for a signed 2nd classs parcel which is possibly a bit OTT if you're concerned about postage costs, especially as it only covers you for up to £20. It's also 50p cheaper to buy it online.

you are right.Amazon don’t meet our postage costs so that the price to customers is kept artificially low.Its no good saying shop around.This leads to complications with poor carriers and having to buy from Amazon.I want to support the PO/ Royal Mail.They very seldom don’t deliver,it’s easily accessible and is simple - stick on stamp and post.
It’s about time the postage allowance was uprated ,otherwise it plays into the hands of cheapskate carriers giving poor service.

to further explain my issue.......ALL AMAZON SHIPPING CREDITS ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF DATE, they quickly and frequently put up their fees in one way or another but not sellers credits. EG 5 years ago a double CD selling for £4.95 would give me £5.44 from which I could pay £2.90 postage (untracked as no VTR issue) = profit £2.54 now the same scenario amazon gives me £3.57 (although it says £4.01 at point of listing) and postage with tracking (to comply with VTR) is £5.09 = LOSS £1.52....so not worth doing

Absolutely! I’ve just opted a book to Australia. Used Royal Mail because I too, want to support them. Amazon allowe £7.00 postage,actual cost £22.50! A nightmare. Amazon really ought to acknowledge that not all books weigh the same, or have the same spine depth, AND to increase their rates in line with actual costs. If I could I’d ditch Amazon completely, but then they list my books as ‘out of stock’ having trawled the ISBN off the web! And I get no sales through any site because people assume Amazon are telling the truth!
