VAT Exemptions

Hello, on August 27th, I created my company in the UK and connected it to amazon. I am a resident of the UK and my company address is also linked to my home address. As far as I know, I have VAT exemptions of up to 85000 pounds. But when I opened the case for the exemption from amazon, they stated that they did not give exemptions anymore. I am a FBM seller and i've only seen the new rules about VAT for FBA sellers. Is there anyone who can help with this?

The new threshold for VAT is now £90,000, not £85K. Everyone now pays VAT on all the fees, there is no exemption, since 1st August. It is not just FBA, but FBM also.

You can register voluntarily for VAT if you wish, before you reach the threshold, but be aware that you will need to send in quarterly VAT returns, to reclaim the VAT you have paid when purchasing your goods and other business expenses. Would be wise to speak to your accountant and see if that is a wise business decision.
