Updating what's in the box of an ASIN, changing it's weight - would this cause a problem?

I have a top selling product, but we’d like to update the product and add more value by including more in the box. I am wondering if once we sell out the ASIN, and then the same ASIN comes into a fulfilment centre, but is slightly heavier, will this cause a problem and raise flags with Amazon? I am conscious that because the weight is different, it may flag and cause an issue… appreciate any thoughts from anyone who’s done this before!

If you are changing what is in the box, it possibly requires a new asin altogether

I also think this is a new ASIN as it is effectively a new version of the product.

You would also have to be careful. What would happen if Amazon found old stock and added it back into your inventory or if you have a customer return and it was added back into your inventory. The customer could potentially get an old spec product which would lead to complaints.
