A -Z Claim - amazon is just facilitating theft?

order number 204-3849654-5052329

order value £396.75

So we had a customer initially contact us for a product that was late.. ( out of our hands, courier failed delivery) we got the typical. this is for my daughters birthday and its her only present , we offered that they could return it or refuse delivery. but beyond that nothing we could do

6 weeks later.. they come back and say that they have opened and destroyed and disposed of the box.. realised some screws missing. and that it was a returned item sold as new ( not true) due to damage made when attempts at assembly - they just damaged it trying to build it 6 weeks after their daughters birthday

They demanded a full refund. without return - after the return window

We offered replacement parts, but would not give them a refund - certainly not without a return.

They preceded to create an A-Z claim. saying they never received it.

Amazon granted it

We appealed this. showing the proof of delivery and the chat with the customer about the product they received

amazon granted them a refund

no way to appeal, so opened a support ticket to speak to a CS. that created an appeal.. and the CS stated they can not help if its in appeal.. but requesting help creates an appeal.. so how?

Amazon again granted a refund. "no further action necessary"

yes further action necessary -

attempted again to contact support.. again cannot help as - yuou guessed it contacting support opened another appeal. support said that they would escalate it to the mysterious unreachable a-z department

minutes later..

Granted. no further action required

What the actual??

The customer literally talks about having the item. and we have photographic proof of delivery. we went above what was necessary. but amazon just gives things away for free

are amazon part of some giant fraud rackett?? or do they just like giving people free stuff and charging sellers?

You can keep re-appealing by doing the following -

Help - get help and resources

My issue is not listed here

Type A-Z claim in both boxes

It will then give you a box to put the order number and then more information you can add then it will send it to the a-z claim team.

Hope this helps and yes the a-z system has been a scammers paradise for many many years and is not fit for purpose.

you can't make it up can you. shocking.

Have you emailed the MD, i used that method once and the A-Z was reversed, but amazon still refunded the customer out of their own funds. Still crazy, but i got my money.

We have seen this scenario played repeatedly, and there is no end. Amazon is now in the business of giving out third-party sellers money freely to their mutual clients.

In the future, provide the buyer with a prepaid return label. A scammer will likely not use it, but it will serve as evidence that you are trying to resolve the problem. It is also important to message the buyer to demand a return update.

It is so easy, even for non-scammers, to get money from Amazon by claiming anything without any evidence.

Have you considered taking them to the small claims court through Money Claim online. As you mentioned you have good evidence that they have received the goods with your chat transcripts.

Its theft plain and simple, call the police or at the very least take them to court.

Its getting worse and amazon really dont care as long as the customer is happy.

They facilitate fraud on a daily basis and really dont care, the whole system is shocking.

Ebay is the way forward, at least the sellers have a decent level of protection.

Amazon is complicit in theft , Amazon is customer based eBay is more seller based , imo , call the police get a crime number , forward it on to Amazon , that being said they will probably just ignore it , had a similar situation with a-z claim , claimed never received, courier pictured handing items to customers husband (we only know that because she told us via Amazon messages ! ) After the claim was in. we forwarded all this to Amazon , messages image etc , Amazon had already granted the claim to customer , we then forwarded a message from customer apologising as she didn’t know her husband received the items , Amazon finally refunded me , after weeks and hours spent ! Amazon is a joke !
