All of a sudden Losing buybox to other sellers when we really should not be
Hey,
So I have noticed that my buybox percentage has gone down drastically on certain asins within the past 2 months. These are listings I have been on for a while, and usually I was getting about 50-75% of the entire buybox share. In this situation for 1 ASIN I will use as an example here, we are the biggest seller on the listing (in terms of reviews) we have 7000 reviews with 100% positive lifetime feedback. The other sellers range from 20 to 300 reviews some 100%, some lower. Also we have the most stock by far with over 1500 units, other sellers we see have 20-400 units approximately. This is an expensive item in the $300 range.
So after a year of getting 50-60 sales per day like clock work, I noticed I am now getting between 8 and 15 sales a day. This has been going on for about 2 months, and I noticed that a newer smaller seller with less stock and 200 reviews now has 55% BB and I have 15% over the last 30 day period. The other 4 or 5 sellers on the listing have small percentages as they always have. We are all at the same price. No promotions or coupons or discounts being run. We are all using FBA. I have also had over 1000 units at FBA for atleast 6 months and continue to replenish as needed so our stock has gone through FC Transfer and is distributed all over amazons FC's. I do not think it is a stock location issue. We try to do everything we can to maintain good metrics, we answer buyer messages within 24 hours (most of the time) We rarely lose any A to Z claims, Our Voice of the customer on this ASIN is Excellent.
So I am posting to ask if anyone knows what other things amazon looks for to determine buybox share. We thought we had a grasp on it for a while, but latley I have been seeing this happen on many items and I can not figure out why we are getting much less buy box than newer smaller sellers with less stock at the same price with no advertising and no promos going. (for any of us) I know its a vague question to ask, but I am curious if others have noticed this, or if any mods may have any advice for how to give us a higher BB share as we used to get and probably should be getting given the metrics I have described. I know its not random, but I may be unaware of something that could help.
The one thing I will say is that my IPI score is not great. It never really has been and usually is in the high 400 range. This is because we are a wholesale partner to a lot of brands and have over 1000 ASINS, many of which are not always in stock. Seasonal items, etc.
Any insights would be appreciated, just trying to start a discussion that may help myself and others
thanks!
