I want to close my UK account
I received this email from my UK account . I want to close this account . I have never had any listings, I haven't sold anything from my UK account. They are asking me to provide utility bills documents , (For example : Water, Gas ,Energy, Class 2 National Insurance Contributions (NICs) Bill--> Online VAT Certificate) but I am not a resident of the UK. What should i do? I do not plan to sell anywhere other than the US.

You cannot close a deactivated account. Have you opened one global account or a separate UK/EU ones. In any case if the accounts are linked (as they seem to be) than all your accounts will be deactivated if one is.

Its usually a utility bill for your residential address they require - however they also need to verify your business details. This is a legal requirement and Amazon have no choice but to get these to verify both your identity and your business for tax purposes.
Why did you open a uk account if you only wanted to sell in US ? Both uk and eu have stricter verification rules than in US I believe.

There was a time when I wanted to sell in the UK, and I provided all the necessary documents. Everything was fine, and all was confirmed. However, later I decided not to proceed with selling in the UK because of suppliers in China. This was 3 years ago.
I received a letter from Amazon stating that my US account was deactivated due to ownership of another account, but I didn’t understand which account they were referring to. I posted on the forum, and it was explained to me that it was the UK account – everything is due to that.

It doesnt sound like the 3 year old uk account was ever fully verified - anyway you have no choice but to get it verified if you want to continue selling on Amazon I'm afraid.
