Fed up with Amazon's messed up book catalogue
Just fallen foul of the mess that is AZ's minefield of a book catalogue.
Customer's just taken delivery of Glyndebourne : A Visual History and sent an angry message that it's not the signed copy he was expecting. My copy wasn't signed or listed as signed.
On looking at AZ's listing the 'stock image' shows a signed copy presumably provided by whomever created the listing and I didn't notice; wouldn't have listed it if I had.
Stopped listing by uploads to try and avoid these problems but missed that one and now have a £75 refund on my hands plus the cost of postage.

Absolutely sympathise. We get the same things : "picture shows a dust jacket, came without the wrapper": - even tho' we had clearly stated 'no dustjacket'; the perennial hardcover listed as paperback & vice versa problem; wrong publication date...... . But even getting something as simple as getting 'First edition' or 'Signed copy' removed from the title field is now made impossible by the requirement for invoices for 10 copies (of OP books!). Oh for the days of those helpful teams in Ireland and Cape Town who would get things corrected with no problems. Down with bots & AI (or A(non)I.

Oddly enough, I was just about to list an unsigned 1st edition when I saw these (and similar) comments in the reviews section:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1.0 out of 5 stars False Description 19 August 2021
I bought this "signed" edition. It was not signed as per the description (see image). [seller] has agreed to refund me but has not yet removed this false description. Do not be caught out. If you are happy with an UNSIGNED 1st edition then go ahead and purchase.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not as described 10 April 2018
The description said signed first edition but this book was not inscribed won't buy from again
------------------------------
It's not a hugely valuable book or I would have attempted to get SS to remove the offending Product Description, which reads:
Signed, first edition... Prompt UK dispatch and all proceeds to Wakefield Hospice
Far too many books (as well as other media items) have seller condition notes where the Product Description should be.
Amazon makes it almost impossible to get these obvious errors corrected.

Over the last few months I have tried to get 5 or 6 of these misleading descriptions changed. I never get anywhere! Amazon as usual do not want know.
Unfortunately there are thousands of these cases where the seller accidentally or deliberately puts in the condition of his book rather than a description of the book that will apply to all the copies of the book that are being.

I include at least 1 photo of my book and a description. Most people don't include any photos of their books
Customer often looks at the stock image & not my images though !!
The stock image will be of a book long since sold though !
